A WOMAN known as DOTTO Magambazi (30), a resident of Mjimqema Street, Kiluvya District, Kisarawe District, Coastal Region, has died after being attacked with a machete by her alleged divorcee.
Dotto was attacked with a sword in various parts of his body at three o'clock in the night on March 17 and he died at five o'clock in the night while being treated at Tumbi Regional Referral Hospital.
Coastal Regional Police Commander Senior Assistant Commissioner (SACP) Pius Lutumo told journalists that Dotto was attacked at his home in Mjimwema Street.
According to Lutumo, the initial investigation conducted by the Police Force revealed that the person responsible for the attack was her ex-husband Mbaraka Mapunda (42), a resident of Chanika Dar es Salam whom she divorced a year ago.
The source of the attack is said to be jealousy of love and competition for the assets they earned together.
However, when the army continued with the search to arrest the suspect, it was found that he had hanged himself 300 meters away from the house in Mjimqema street in a bush.
The suspect is alleged to have hanged himself using a clothes belt that he used to hang himself from a tree.
