EBN Hunting Safari LTD Handover Vehicle To Burunge WMA's To Combat Poaching, Wildlife and Human Conflict

The EBN Hunting Safari Ltd, which operates in the Burunge Wildlife Management Areas in Babati district, has donated a Land Cruiser vehicle to support conservation and anti-poaching activities in the Burunge WMA area.


The car which has cost 205 million shillings has been handed over by the Secretary of EBN Hunting Safari Ltd, Charles Sylvester to the Director of the Babati District Council, Anna Mbogo who in turn handed it over to the leaders of Burunge WMA.


Speaking at the time of handing over the car, Sylvester said the car is part of the contract agreement between EBN and Burunge WMA where after five years another new car will be given to Burunge WMA's.


"EBN believes that this car will be used well to help reduce conflicts between wildlife and humans but also to deal with anti poaching" he said


Babati District Council Director, Anna Mbogo on behalf of Babati District Commissioner, Lazaro Twange congratulated EBN Company for implementing the contract agreement on time.


She said that the car along with other funds that have been generated by EBN should be used well to develop conservation and solve the challenges of the people around the Burunge WMA's.


"The 10 villages that make up this Burunge WMA's have had great development and we believe that the people will continue to participate in the conservation so that they can continue to benefit" She said


The General Manager of Chemchem Association, which collaborates with EBN, Clever Zulu, reading the greetings of the directors of EBN, said they strongly believe that this Car will help to improve conservation in the Burunge WMA's.


Zulu said EBN Hunting Safari Ltd will continue to cooperate with Burunge WMA and the people of Babati District and Manyara region in developing conservation and attracting more tourists.


The Chairman of the Board of Burunge WMA, Patricia William said EBN has had a great cooperation in developing conservation and Tourism in Burunge WMA and they believe to continue to have great cooperation.


"This car is part of our agreement and they will give us another car and we hope they will continue to cooperate with WMA in protecting the conversation to develop tourism" She said


The secretary of Burunge WMA, Benson Mwaise promised to take care of the car and that it will help a lot in the works to reduce conflicts between wildlife and humans but also to fight against poaching.


Wildlife Officer of Babati Council Emmanuel Laizer wanted Burunge WMA to use the vehicle to reduce wildlife conflicts that destroy people's crops.
