Arusha, Tanzania - In a landmark move, Prime Minister Dr. Mwigulu Nchemba has announced the government's unwavering commitment to transforming Tanzania into a premier  destination.

Speaking at the prestigious Serengeti Awards ceremony, Dr. Nchemba pledged to create a conducive investment climate, upgrade infrastructure, and address pressing challenges facing the sector.

The Prime Minister's bold declaration comes as Tanzania's tourism sector continues to dazzle, contributing a staggering 21% to the national GDP, generating over 25% of foreign exchange earnings, and employing a whopping 3 million Tanzanians.

Dr. Nchemba emphasized that the government will go the extra mile to safeguard the sector's growth, urging leaders and citizens to join forces as guardians of the country's priceless natural resources.

With a clear vision, Dr. Nchemba unveiled plans to fast-track infrastructure development, including the eagerly-awaited Ngorongoro-Serengeti road and Mto wa Mbu-Karatu streetlight project. He called on the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism to forge stronger partnerships with stakeholders to tackle pressing issues and propel tourist arrivals to an impressive 8 million per annum.

Minister of Natural Resources and Tourism, Dr. Ashatu Kijaji, echoed the Prime Minister's enthusiasm, reaffirming her ministry's dedication to driving growth and prosperity in the sector.

Investors welcomed the government's proactive stance, urging authorities to tackle WMAs' leadership and conflict woes.

As Tanzania sets its sights on becoming a top tourist destination, the government has already distributed TSh 2.25 billion to 51 beneficiaries, including district councils, villages, and community wildlife management areas.

With challenges persisting in over 10 WMAs, the stage is set for a tourism revolution in Tanzania.
